I loveeeee trying out new foundations and everytime I buy a new foundation, I totally forget about the previous and fall in love with my new one ♥ Foundation is something I never used in my life but after I've moved to AD, my skin has become so so bad from the water that I needed some coverage before leaving home and that's when I started looking for endless foundations and trying each and every single one in beauty stores ;p
Sometimes when I'm at a cosmetics shop like Sephora for example, the color of the foundation would look perfect on me but once I reach home and try it on myself, it looks like I shoved my face in a bowl of flour literally, LOL ;p. Mostly what everyone would do is throw the foundation away or simply not use it. The trick is to mix colors and shades until you find the perfect shade and sometimes if you're lucky, one bottle and shade would be perfect just for you.
So what do you do with a foundation bottle that doesn't suit your skin? There are 2 things to do:
1- You can mix it with other foundations you already own until you get the perfect shade.
2- If it's slightly darker, you can use it as a bronzer, if it's slightyly lighter, you can use it as a highlighter (apply above your eyebrows, underneath your eyes, on your cheek bones, etc. to enhance features) and like that, you're not so perfect foundation would benefit you and it won't be thrown away!
If you want more info on how or what spots to highlight on your face, check this picture:
Here are my 3 favourite foundations and I've bought the Chanel one recently and I can say it's my fave up to now!!Full coverage, matte finish, and flawless smooth skin!
1- Make Up Forever Mat Velvet+ oilfree water resistant foundation. (My shade is #55)
2- Clinique stay-matte oil-free foundation (My shade is 15 beige)
3- My favouritee ♥ ♥ Chanel Mat Lumiere long lasting foundation with SPF 15 (My shade is 42 Petale).
If you notice all my listed foundations above are oilfree that's because I get oily sometimes around my T-zone and somehow my face absorbs all the make up i have in less than 2 hours!! That's why I always buy oilfree foundations.
They actually look super dark in this picture but they're not in real.
This is my favourite foundation brush. It blends my foundation perfectly and leaves an airbrushed finish! The brush is super soft and I love it you can use it for foundation, blusher, and powder!
It's the 187 Duo Fibre Face Brush from MAC. It's exactly like the sigma f50 brush I love them both but I couldn't take a picture of my Sigma one cause I shampooed it a while ago and i left it in the bathroom so it can dry.
After I apply my foundation I apply a little bit of loose powder all over my face to set the foundation in its place, makes it last longer! I love MUFE and MAC's loose powder.
My shade in MAC's loose powder is NC30.
I dab the powder all over my face using this Sigma powder brush
After you've finished those two steps, it's up to you if you want to apply fix all over your skin but recently I haven't been spraying it cause it somehow leaves a sticky finish on my skin so I just skip this step and go to my next step: Blusher.
Of course before you start this foundation routine you must start by a clean washed face, apply your preferred moisturizer and let it soak in for at least 5 mins, and then apply primer(primer helps make the surface of your skin smooth for the foundation to go on and also prepares your skin for the foundation. Not to forget that it makes your foundation last longer!!)then lastly your foundation and finally your powder.
I'll post another post sometime soon on my daily face routine. From A to Z (Face wash, toner, moisturizer, primer, etc). This post is just written for a flawless face and perfect foundation.
xoxo
